So I had this flash of inspiration a while ago, actually brought on by ~Mahotou (thanks so much!!).

As she was reading Paradise? by =Hikari-Collection she would sketch out some of the scenes, then posted them on dA.

Brilliant! I thought. So in following with her notion, I reread Bonds, also by =Hikari-Collection (I am her official illustrator) and did the same thing, picking a particular part I liked or was struck by and sketching it in pencil, then lightly coloring it with colored pencil.

Thus this was born. I'd like to do at least one for each chapter of Bonds, and then maybe move on to some of Hikari's other works.

Sori's Son: The defining moment for me in the first chapter came with the meeting of Sai and Falcon. Early on Sai worries for someone named Sori. I think that concern was then transfered to her son (which then in turn changed Sai into a (semi) doting uncle. The question now is: will the transformation be completed??).

In this sketch I tried to show the grief of the two characters at the loss of one the reader never meets.

Sai looks so unsure but willing to attempt anything to help Falcon. I love it 8D :heart:

Kitty-kid really IS going to stick now. :giggle:

'Nyway, as usual, you drew it exactly how I envisioned the scene. Their expressions show feelings coursing through them. I love the vacantness of Falcon's gaze, and the hesitation in Sai's pose as he reaches to touch the boy--almost as though afraid to break him. (And I really, really want Sai's hair for my own now. XD)

This is beautiful.

Thanks! Yes, Mr. Sai Hissy-Prissy is one enjoyable guy to draw (it helps he's so pretty :^^: ) Though I think we can all agree he's not at his best under the careless colored pencils of Lazy Artist Creep, yeah?
